Lead Android Engineer

We are hiring a Lead Android Engineer in Ahmedabad for a team building on Android, Kotlin, Coroutines. 7-9 years of experience.

Android, Kotlin, Coroutines, with Performance, Architecture, jetpack compose across the wider stack.

• 7-9 years with Android in production.
• Hands-on depth in Kotlin, Coroutines, enough to defend a decision you made in each, and name the one you rejected.
• Working familiarity with Performance, Architecture, jetpack compose.
• You have led delivery across more than one person's work: setting the technical direction, reviewing it, and being answerable when it slipped.
• The ability to explain a technical decision to somebody who did not make it. Every round here includes it.

Not the focus of the interview, but part of the job. Teams ask about these, so be ready to talk about them:

• Git, branching and code review as a daily habit
• One cloud provider used in anger: AWS, Azure or GCP
• CI/CD: your work reaches an environment without somebody carrying it
• Release engineering: signing, staged rollout, and a store review you have survived
• CI for mobile: Fastlane, Codemagic or GitHub Actions
• Crash and performance monitoring, and having fixed something it caught
• Offline storage and sync, because the network is not a given
• REST or GraphQL clients, retries, and cache invalidation

Expect to be asked how you would approach a problem in each of the areas above, and why you would not take the obvious route. Then one level down on whichever answer was weakest.
