Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
Tezvyn (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the Tezvyn mobile application and the tezvyn.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and full name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from the provider.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including cards read, quiz answers, bookmarks, reactions, streaks, and achievements. This data is used to personalize your feed and track your learning progress.
Device Information: If you enable push notifications, we store your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send you notifications.
Candidate Profile and Resume: If you apply to a job listed on Tezvyn, we collect the details you add to your candidate profile — your name, email, phone number, location, current role, years of experience, an optional LinkedIn or portfolio link, and the resume file you upload. You choose to provide these; nothing here is collected from users who only read cards.
Your resume is stored privately. It is not published, not indexed by search engines, and not reachable from any public web address. It is shared only with the hiring company for a role you actively applied to, and with that company’s recruitment partner where one is involved — which is what the consent checkbox on the application form confirms. We never share it with anyone you did not apply to, and we do not sell it. You can replace or delete your resume at any time from your candidate profile; deleting it removes the file from our servers.
AI support and support messages: When you choose Ask Tezvyn AI, your question and up to six recent messages from that AI conversation are sent to OpenAI to answer using our published help guides. We remove common email-address and long-number patterns before sending, but this does not remove every kind of personal information. Do not include passwords, payment-card details or other sensitive information. The AI has no access to your application, account records or support inbox. We store call counts and token usage rather than AI conversation text. If you choose Message our team, the message you submit is stored in our support inbox; you can choose whether to include the last few AI messages for context.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the Tezvyn learning experience
- To forward job applications you submit to the hiring company for that role, together with the profile and resume you chose to provide
- To track your reading progress, streaks, and achievements
- To send push notifications about new content and milestones (if enabled)
- To generate quizzes based on content you’ve read
- To improve our content and service
- To communicate with you about your account (e.g., password resets)
3. Where your data is processed
Our servers are hosted by Hetzner Cloud in Singapore. If you are in India, your personal data is therefore processed outside India.
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 permits transfer to any country the Central Government has not specifically restricted. Singapore is not restricted. If that changes, we will move the data and tell you before we do.
We protect it with HTTPS in transit, bcrypt-hashed passwords, and JWT authentication. Resumes are held outside the public web root under randomised filenames and are readable only through an authenticated staff route — a resume URL that could be guessed or forwarded would be a data breach, not a broken link.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- OpenAI: For AI support answers and optional mock interview practice. During a voice interview, audio is sent to OpenAI for the conversation and transcription. Tezvyn saves the transcript, feedback and usage needed to manage your paid session. Our servers do not retain the raw audio.
- Firebase Authentication: For social sign-in (Google)
- Sentry: For backend error tracking and diagnostics from older app versions
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: For crash reports and technical error diagnostics in the Android and iOS apps
- Google Firebase Analytics: For app usage analytics
- PostHog: For anonymous product analytics
- Resend: For transactional emails (password resets)
- RevenueCat: For managing subscriptions and purchases
- Google AdMob: For advertising, which uses your device's advertising ID
- impact.com: For referral and partner attribution
Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
5. Job applications and your resume
This is the most sensitive thing we hold, so it gets its own section.
When you apply for a role listed by us, you tick a box consenting to three things being shared with the hiring company and its recruitment partners: your profile, your resume, and your study record — how many interview breakdowns you have read on that stack, your accuracy across the quiz questions you attempted, and the score from any AI mock interviews you chose to take. We record that consent with a timestamp. Nothing leaves our systems for an application where that box was not ticked.
We describe that record to hiring teams as evidence of preparation, not of ability, and we never rank or filter candidates by it. If you would rather it were not shared, do not tick the box — and you can still read everything on the app for free, because the study record exists whether or not you ever apply for anything.
Some roles on our board are listed from a company's own public careers page. We do not submit those on your behalf and we do not send your resume anywhere for them — you apply with the company directly, and your profile stays with us only so your next application is quicker.
We do not share your resume with anyone you have not applied to.
Career guidance requests
If you request career guidance, we save your chosen goal, optional message, the offer shown to you and your consent to be contacted. Our team uses your account email to discuss that request. Staff can add internal notes and updates you can read in your account. These details are separate from recruitment and are not sent to hiring clients. The pilot form does not share your resume, book a call or take payment. You can withdraw your request on the guidance page. The request remains in your account until you delete the account; account deletion removes it.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:
- Access — a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with
- Correction and completion — update your profile in the app or on the web at any time
- Erasure — delete your account and everything attached to it, yourself, at tezvyn.com/delete-account or from Settings in the app. No email required and no one will try to talk you out of it.
- Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (section 9) and receive a response
- Nomination — nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity. Write to the Grievance Officer.
You can also withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing it stops future sharing; it cannot recall an application already sent to a hiring company, in the same way an email cannot be unsent.
7. How long we keep it
While your account is active, and:
- Resumes: deleted within 30 days of you removing them or deleting your account
- Job applications: kept for 24 months, because a hiring process can reopen months later and a candidate asking "what happened to my application" deserves an answer
- Reading and quiz history: deleted with your account
- Billing records: retained as long as tax law requires, which is longer than we would otherwise keep them
Deleting your account removes personal data and usage history from our servers within 30 days.
8. Data breaches
If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India without undue delay, and tell you what happened, what was affected and what to do about it.
9. Children
Tezvyn is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we do not process children's data or run behavioural advertising against it. If we learn we have collected such data, we delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
11. Contact and Grievance Officer
For anything about this policy, or to exercise any right above:
Grievance Officer: Akash Jain
Email: privacy@tezvyn.com
Operated by: Yukti Labs, India
We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
