Lead DevOps Engineer

We are hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer in Bengaluru for a team building on CI/CD, Automation, Kubernetes. 7-9 years of experience.

CI/CD, Automation, Kubernetes, with Security, Git across the wider stack.

• 7-9 years with CI/CD in production.
• Hands-on depth in Automation, Kubernetes, enough to defend a decision you made in each, and name the one you rejected.
• Working familiarity with Security, Git.
• You have led delivery across more than one person's work: setting the technical direction, reviewing it, and being answerable when it slipped.
• The ability to explain a technical decision to somebody who did not make it. Every round here includes it.

Not the focus of the interview, but part of the job. Teams ask about these, so be ready to talk about them:

• Git, branching and code review as a daily habit
• One cloud provider used in anger: AWS, Azure or GCP
• Infrastructure as code: Terraform, Pulumi or CloudFormation
• Linux, networking, DNS and TLS, at the level where you debug rather than restart
• Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry), and alerts that mean something
• Secrets and identity: IAM, least privilege, rotation
• Cost: knowing what your infrastructure bill is made of

Expect to be asked how you would approach a problem in each of the areas above, and why you would not take the obvious route. Then one level down on whichever answer was weakest.
