Principal Frontend Engineer (React)

We are hiring a Principal Frontend Engineer (React) in Hyderabad for a team building on React, Next.js, Performance. 10-15 years of experience.

React, Next.js, Performance, with Hooks, Routing, state management across the wider stack.

• 10-15 years with React in production.
• Hands-on depth in Next.js, Performance, enough to defend a decision you made in each, and name the one you rejected.
• Working familiarity with Hooks, Routing, state management.
• You have set technical direction that other teams built on, and have been wrong about one of those decisions in a way you can describe.
• The ability to explain a technical decision to somebody who did not make it. Every round here includes it.

Not the focus of the interview, but part of the job. Teams ask about these, so be ready to talk about them:

• Git, branching and code review as a daily habit
• One cloud provider used in anger: AWS, Azure or GCP
• CI/CD: your work reaches an environment without somebody carrying it
• A build toolchain (Vite, Webpack or Turbopack), and a bundle you have made smaller
• Automated tests: unit with Jest or Vitest, end-to-end with Playwright or Cypress
• Core Web Vitals, and having moved one of them on a real site
• Accessibility to WCAG AA: keyboard, focus, contrast, semantics
• REST and GraphQL from the consuming side, including error and loading states

Expect to be asked how you would approach a problem in each of the areas above, and why you would not take the obvious route. Then one level down on whichever answer was weakest.
