Principal UX Researcher

We are hiring a Principal UX Researcher in Mumbai for a team working across UX research, Statistics, user research. 10-15 years of experience.

UX research, Statistics, user research, with product design, Collaboration, system design across the wider stack.

• 10-15 years with UX research in a working team.
• Hands-on depth in Statistics, user research, enough to defend a decision you made in each, and name the one you rejected.
• Working familiarity with product design, Collaboration, system design.
• You have set direction that other teams built on, and have been wrong about one of those calls in a way you can describe.
• The ability to explain a decision to somebody who did not make it. Every round here includes it.

Not the focus of the interview, but part of the job. Teams ask about these, so be ready to talk about them:

• Figma at a working level: components, variants, auto layout, tokens
• Handoff that survives engineering: specs, states, edge cases
• Accessibility to WCAG AA: contrast, target size, focus order
• Enough HTML and CSS to know what you are asking for
• Prototyping, and having watched somebody use one

Expect to be asked how you would approach a problem in each of the areas above, and why you would not take the obvious route. Then one level down on whichever answer was weakest.
