When not to use it
This is overkill for tactical improvements within a single, self-organizing team. Most importantly, do not attempt to use this without clear, unambiguous support and sponsorship from senior management. Without executive backing, any attempt at large-scale change is likely to fail, and this tool will just document the failure.

A backlog item might be "Eliminate 'Death March' Antipattern in the Platform Team." The selected patterns to implement could be "Limited WIP" and "Timebox." The target beneficiary is the Platform Team. The acceptance criteria could be: 1. The team's Kanban board shows a WIP limit of 5 is respected for 90% of a two-week period. 2. Team overtime hours decrease by 50% over the next quarter. 3. The team successfully delivers its sprint goals for three consecutive sprints.
