User Personas: Build for a 'Who', Not a 'What'
Source: productplan.combeginner

Personas are fictional character sheets for your ideal users, grounding product decisions in human needs, not just features. They guide choices from UI to marketing by asking "What would our user do?".
A user persona is a semi-fictional profile of a target user, based on research, that represents a larger group. It's a character sheet that keeps your team from building for a vague "everyone." It guides feature prioritization, UI design, and marketing. In B2B, you'll often have separate "user" and "buyer" personas. The footgun is creating personas from assumptions, not data.
